Having got to Russia only at the very end of the 19th century, Japanese wooden figures of the wise men, being put one in another, attracted to someone on Moscow toy to factory. The contribution to russification of a nested doll was brought by the well-known Russian artist Sergey Malyutin, dressed these wooden dolls in Russian sundresses.
